Propagation Media

Propagation media refers to materials used to start seeds, clones or cuttings for the purpose of plant propagation. There are several types of propagation media available, including peat moss, coconut coir, rockwool, vermiculite, perlite, and soilless mixes. These media are chosen based on their ability to provide the necessary nutrients, moisture retention, and aeration required for healthy root development. Hydroponic systems often use rockwool cubes or plugs as a propagation media, as they provide excellent water retention and aeration while preventing over-saturation of the plant roots. With the right propagation media and proper care, growers can establish healthy plant roots and ensure a successful crop.
